Burna Boy is litterally moments away from being the biggest artist in Africa and at this point no one can stop him. Ok, let me explain what I mean.........
This man is months away from dropping his highly anticipated new album ''AFRICAN GIANTS'' and if the singles are anything to go by then we are in for the best music he has ever made, but something special is also happening to Burna's career simultaneously. The world is finally paying attention, like really paying attention and his next project is about to shift the global music landscape in a major way.
This feels like when Kanye West was about to drop his third album Graduation and the world was finally paying attention to Ye (no pun intended) and it just so happend that he was making the best music in rap at that specific time, and well the rest is history. Burna boy is having that very moment right now but no one is paying close attention so they can't see it. He has been on every single major global festival stage for the past 12 months and the response has been the same everywhere he goes, nothing but overwhelming love. All the while he's been dropping bangers left right and centre that whole time, and now it's album time and Burna is about to deliver in a big way.
The best thing about where burna boy is right now is that he did it all without a co-sign, no don't get me wrong I know he got the co-signs but his were different, ok let me break this down. While his Nigerian peers Wizkid and Davido where getting international features from Chris brown to Drake to Meek mill and everyone else in between on their own songs which helped propel them into global stars, Burna Boy was doing the opposite. He was building his catolouge and rise off his music and staying away from having international features on his own songs. The rest of the world fell in love with Burna Boy's music for the same reason the whole of Africa fell in love with it, it's special. And wether it's the Fela Kuti influence at the centre of his vibe or his immaculate song writting ability or the unforgettable melodies he is the greatest artist we got in Africa right now and now the whole world is watching. He just dropped a new song ''JA ARA E'' produced by Beyonce which is off the Lion King soundtrack and it couldn't have come at a better time for his next move.
There is no doubt in my mind that Burna Boy is about to become the biggest artist in Africa and from us here at The Gold Axis we can't wait to see what he does with it.
